In some respects, this blog represents a fine example of misplaced enthusiasm. As opposed to cultivating a new, exciting blog which comes complete with a wide range of breathtaking, revolutionary ideas, I'm instead posting about a minute section of someone else's breathtaking body of work. As a constant reader of Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and one that has an incredibly poor grasp of geography, I found myself second guessing whether certain towns and buildings mentioned in Vonnegut's novels really existed in the United States and beyond.
Having only really glimpsed the other side of the globe several years ago, I decided to "document" (although, perhaps "bundle/scrabble together" is altogether more accurate) the multitude of locations mentioned in Kurt Vonnegut's novels. This will of course be an ongoing project and there will be no doubt giant holes in my knowledge (this seems to be the way things have played out so far, at least), but I'll do my best to provide as much information on the settings in Kurt Vonnegut's novels as possible.

Disclaimer: This website does not focus on critical analyses of settings in Kurt Vonnegut's novels and short stories. Instead, it documents the locations mentioned as well as reoccuring themes and allows you to draw together the strands of geographical knowledge. You'll also find summaries of each of the Kurt Vonnegut novels and stories mentioned in the blog. All novel and short story quotes are posted in good faith.
